SnapToFile
For adjusters, roofers, and field contractors

Every claim and every job deserves a proper report.

SnapToFile is a single HTML file that turns your field photos into carrier-ready inspection reports in minutes. No install. No login. Works offline. Your files stay on your device — forever.

Works offline. Roofs, basements, rural jobs.
No account required. Open and go.
You own the files. Always.
A note for Android users

Xactimate is leaving Android. Your photos shouldn't have to.

Verisk is winding down Xactimate on Android. If you're an adjuster or roofer on an Android phone, you've got roughly eight months to a year to find a new photo-documentation workflow before the tool you rely on goes dark.

SnapToFile runs in any Android browser today — and the same file works identically on iPhone, iPad, and laptop. No app install, no account, no migration project. You keep working.

Dec 2026
Xactimate Android goes into limited functionality mode per Verisk's announcement.
Q2 2027
Full sunset. Android users need a replacement workflow in place by then.
Today
SnapToFile already runs in Chrome, Firefox, and Samsung Internet on Android — offline, no install.
What we believe
01

Tools should work offline.

You work on roofs, in basements, at rural properties. Your software should work there too — without begging for a signal.

02

Your files are your files.

Reports live on your device. If we vanish tomorrow, your work doesn't. No vendor lock-in. No subscription to access old claims.

03

No account, no install.

Open a file in any browser. That's the whole setup. No accounts, no permissions pop-ups, no IT tickets.

04

$27 a month is a lot of receipts.

Field pros pay for six different tools already. We don't think photo documentation should be one of them.

How it works

Three steps from photo to finished PDF.

01

Shoot

Use your phone camera, drag photos from your laptop, or tap the in-app camera button. iPhone, Android, iPad, or desktop — same file, same flow.

02

Annotate

Circle the damage, draw arrows, highlight the seam. Type captions, add headers, build a damage summary. Bulk-edit 20 captions at once with the template builder.

03

Export

One click for a branded 2-up PDF with your cover page and claim info. Save the project as a .stf file to reopen any time, anywhere.

Frequently asked

The honest answers.

Is the free version really free? What's the catch?+
The free version has no time limit — it doesn't expire. It caps out at 12 photos per report and includes a small SnapToFile footer on exported PDFs. That's the whole trade-off. No credit card to forget, no bait and switch. If you need bigger reports or custom company branding, SnapToFile Pro is $15/month — first month is $7.50 with code FIRST50.
Where are my photos and reports stored?+
On your device. SnapToFile runs in your browser — there's no server, no cloud account, no transmission. When you save a project, it downloads as a .stf file to your device. Your data never leaves your computer.
Does it work on my iPhone / Android / iPad?+
Yes. Any device with a modern browser — Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Edge. Works offline once the file is saved locally. The camera button opens your rear camera directly. Touch-friendly throughout.
What does Pro include, and how much does it cost?+
SnapToFile Pro is $15/month — your first month is $7.50 with code FIRST50 at checkout. Pro unlocks the full Transform tab (crop, rotate, zoom, and pan), the magnify tool for detailed damage shots, and a fully adjustable compression wheel for dialing in PDF file size. It also adds your company logo and contact info to the cover page of every report and removes the SnapToFile footer from exports. The free tier handles annotation, bulk editing, .stf save and reopen, and PDF export — Pro unlocks everything you need for larger or more demanding jobs.
Can I use this for insurance carrier submissions?+
Yes. The PDF output is formatted with a proper cover page, claim info, and 2-up photo pages — readable by any carrier. SnapToFile handles the photo documentation workflow. Your estimating software handles scope and pricing. The two don't overlap.
Does SnapToFile replace my estimating software?+
No — and it's not trying to. SnapToFile owns the photo documentation workflow: capture, annotate, report, export. Your estimating tool owns scope and pricing. Two different jobs. We hand over a clean PDF so the tools you already use keep working exactly as they do today.
What happens when I lose signal on a job?+
Nothing changes. Once the file is saved to your device, SnapToFile runs entirely in your browser with no network required. Shoot, annotate, save, export — all offline. Basements, rural properties, rooftops with zero bars: it all works the same.
Can I use my own company logo and branding on reports?+
Yes, on Pro. Upload your logo once in the profile panel and it appears on the cover page of every PDF you export. Your company name, address, phone, and license number save alongside it — set once, reused on every report.
What does the free version cap out at?+
The free tier is capped at 12 photos per report and doesn't include the Transform tab (no crop, rotate, or zoom), the magnify tool, or the adjustable compression wheel. There's no company branding on the cover page, and exported PDFs carry a small SnapToFile footer. What you do get: all standard annotation tools, bulk caption editing, 3 preset compression levels, PDF export, and .stf save and reopen — fully functional with no time limit.
Will my email get spammed?+
No. You'll get a confirmation, and then only when meaningful updates ship — maybe once a month at peak. One-click unsubscribe, always. Your email is not sold, shared, or used for anything else.
